Botulism Toxin

  • HOW LONG DOES BOTULISM TOXIN LAST?

You may start to see results for moderate to severe forehead lines, frown lines, and crow's feet lines in 1-2 days with full results in 30 days. Results can last up to four months. Botulism toxin is a temporary treatment, so it's important to stay on top of appointments. Treatments should be spaced at least 90 days apart. So whenever you get treated with Xeomin Cosmetic be sure to book your next appointment on the way out.

  • WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT POST-PROCEDURE?

It takes approximately 3-7 days to start seeing the results of botulism toxin so it is important to be patient. You should notice an improvement in your wrinkles and facial appearance by the end of the first week. You may have some redness of the skin around the injection sites for the first day - this is not an allergic reaction. You may also notice some very slight swelling that will subside by the first day or two. Though uncommon, you may have a small amount of bleeding from the injection sites and may develop bruising. If you notice either of these, hold pressure for fifteen minutes and apply cold compresses for a few minutes. Remain upright (no bending over or reclining) for four hours. Do not massage or scratch the injection site. Exercise the treated muscles every 15 minutes for four hours. Avoid makeup for two hours after injections.

  • HOW MUCH RESEARCH HAS GONE INTO BOTULISM TOXIN?

Botulism toxin has over 20 years of research and innovation, approved in 100 countries, and is the most studied treatment of its kind. Its safety and efficacy are documented in 574 peer-reviewed scientific articles.

  • IS THE TREATMENT PAINFUL?

The needles used for botulism toxin injections are extremely small. As a result, most people experience little to no discomfort during treatment. Some individuals describe a slight pinching or stinging sensation.
